Eliot Cardinaux is a poet, pianist, & composer living in Western MA. Working simultaneously in the fields of both improvised music & experimental poetry, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation from the New England Conservatory with a focus on piano, & an MFA in poetry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he studied under Peter Gizzi, Dara Wier, Ocean Vuong, Cynthia Cruz, Martín Espada, & others. He also taught English & writing there. Eliot writes lyric, & lyric-narrative poems in an impressionistic, imagist style, with a sense of phrasing he has acquired from a long time playing and composing music. He is also the founder of The Bodily Press.
